Enjoy ATV Mountainous
Trails in Ozarks from Mulberry Mountain Lodging

Mulberry Mountain Lodging Camp Grounds |
The Ozark National Forest in Arkansas is well
known for its scenic beauty, and ATV enthusiasts
are probably aware that it hosts some of the
best ATV trails in the country. There are more
than 100 miles of trails of various skill levels
so all members of a group or large family
whether a novice or expert on the four-wheelers
are sure to enjoy the adventure.
Major trails include Brock Creek, Huckleberry
Mountain Trail, Mill Creek OHV Trail System, and
Moccasin Gap Trails. Most trails are multiple
use.
The Brock Creek Trails feature two major loops
and a number of interconnecting loops on more
than 42 miles of trail. OHV’ers, mountain
bikers, and horseback riders use the trail.
Huckleberry Mountain Trail includes two main
loops on 40 miles of trail and is open to
horseback riding, hiking, and mountain bikers.
Mill Creek OHV Trail System is available to OHV
riders, mountain bikers, horse riders, and
hikers. This is a true trail system that
includes 27 miles of main trail and 15 miles of
interior loops and shortcut trails. The
ride takes you through remote areas of the Ozark
National Forest and consists of all types of
terrain including mountainous, scenic view,
hardwood forests, rock outcrops and mountain
streams.
Moccasin Gap Trails is known as one of the best
horse trails in Arkansas, but this trail is also
open to off-highway vehicles, mountain bikes,
hikers and high-clearance vehicles. Terrain
consists of forest of hardwoods and pines as
well as streams and small waterfalls.
Easy access to these trails can be achieved from
the Mulberry Mountain Lodging & Events
facilities in Ozark, Arkansas. Located on
Arkansas Highway 23--the Pig Trail National
Scenic Byway--it is right in the middle of the
Ozark National Forest. The trail was actually
created by wild pigs and was later used by the
settlers of the area. The area is rich in mixed
foliage and terrific scenery and panoramic views
from the Boston Mountains. Also, there is plenty
of wildlife to encounter.
Opened in 2005, Mulberry Mountain Lodging &
Events was originally a bed and breakfast site
that was expanded to include cabins and full
campgrounds of RV sites with full electric
hookups and an amphitheater where concert events
are hosted. Some events already scheduled for
2011 include the Wakarusa Music & Camping
Festival June 2-5; Bikes Blues & BBQ Lodging and
Camping September 28- October 1; and the Yonder
Mountain String Band’s Harvest Music Festival
October 13-16. Check the Lodge website for other
scheduled events.
“The Lodge does not rent ATVs nor does it
provide guides, but it provides easy access to
the several miles of ATV trails,” said Dewey
Patton, manager of the Lodge. “You can ride your
ATV out of the facility to the trails,” he said.
The Lodge offers a number of cabins and houses
in which guests can stay. These include the
Mulberry Mountain Lodge, Dower House, Sears
House, Star Cabins I & II, Pop & Granny’s Cabin,
Barn Loft, and Annie’s Cabin.
The 5,000 square foot lodge includes a 40-foot
by 24-foot great room that features two gas
fireplaces, one 20-feet high; a 50-foot
glassed-in porch with a breath taking panoramic
view of the Ozarks; full kitchen; dining area;
eight bedrooms with 2-1/2 baths; laundry
facilities; satellite TV; VCR and outdoor
grills. Nightly rates are $375 for one to six
with an additional fee of $40 for another guest
up to 19.
Dower House is an authentic log cabin that
features a full kitchen, dining area, full bath
with shower/tub, laundry facilities,
wood-burning stove, television with DVD player
and outdoor grill. It also includes one bedroom
with a full bed and king-size bed, loft with a
single bed, and a queen sleeper sofa in the
living room.
